OUR VISION
AISE’s vision is to create a nationally and internationally recognised support network that will also interact with over 70% of committed Australasian social entrepreneurs and their micro and small-to-medium enterprises within the next 5 years.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to create value and social transformation through entrepreneurship with social entrepreneurs and community enterprises, and with like-minded nonprofits. We shall achieve this through high quality enquiry and research, provision of learning and skills-development, and implementation of technology applications for our networks of social entrepreneurs and their communities.
OUR VALUES
As a network of social entrepreneurs we are interested in engaging with all forms of social enterprises and nonprofits. We have a particular interest in supporting disadvantaged individuals and community groups engaged in micro and small-to-medium social enterprises/enterprises. We are guided by a number of identifiable values:
Mutualism: We support an approach to social entrepreneurship that ensures reciprocal benefit through mutual obligation.
Equity-access: We advocate reasonable and ongoing equitable access to resources throughout the life of a social enterprise.
Diversity: We recognise that there are multiple viewpoints and responses to contexts. We acknowledge difference in understanding and actions across cultural, social, gender, ‘class’ and racial boundaries.
Integrity and trust: We prize honesty, respect and trust in our relationships which form the basis for community cohesion and capacity.
Civic mindedness: We recognise the obligations and benefits of living in a democratic society and how we can make a difference for the individuals and communities we serve.
Innovation: We are thinking and learning professionals who innovate and share knowledge.
Optimism: We aim to inculcate the dispositions of persistence and resilience.
Sustainability: We aim to make social enterprises more sustainable through encouraging increased organisational capacity, greater financial viability, and the development of a business-oriented culture. with its accompanying rigorous practices
